Mr. Zutz is having the entire staff read Patrick Lencioni's The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. I suggested having us all read the Harry Potter series, but let's take this one step at a time.
Initially, I was skeptical of this, but when I began reading the book late Wednesday night, I found that I could hardly put it down.
The story is in the form of a fable, and it centers around a computer tech company in Silicone Valley who is struggle to survive. In a last gasp effort to stay profitable, the board of directions hires an new CEO to save the company.
She will face tough tasks as she gets to know her company executives and tries to solve their dysfunctions and get them to care about each other and the company. That is, to get them to work as a team.
